Using EBSCOhost Web

EBSCO   provides access to over 2,600+  publications, of which nearly 1,000  are peer reviewed periodicals.  
Overall dates of coverage range from 1971 to the present.
ProQuest Research Library is comprised of a core collection of publications, 19 subject specific modules, and National Newspapers 5.

To get to EBSCOhost Web

1.   From the Virtual Library home page, select "Research and Information Resources."

2.   Click on "Online Subscription Databases -- registered user."

3.    Scroll down the screen to "Academic Search Elite" and click on "registered user."

4.    At the prompt, enter the username s6222955 and the password password, and then click on "login."

5.   Select EBSCOhost Web.

6.    Check the box next to the databases you wish to search (defaults to Academic Search Elite) and then click on "continue."

7.   EBSCOhost defaults (automatically goes back to) a basic keyword search.


To use the EBSCOhost "Advanced Search"

 

In addition, the advanced search allows the user to limit the search by specifying publication title words, publication type, peer reviewed, or published date range; it allows the user to expand the search with three options:  "Also search within the full text of the articles," "Include all search terms by default," and "also search for related words" (not shown).
